Jones was a very common surname in Wales in the 1800s. At the time our ancestors lived in the Welsh village of Llanwnog (or Llanwnnog) there were many Jones families bringing their children to be baptised in the St Gwynogs Church.

A search of Llanwnog baptism records (indexed on the Familysearch.org website) reveals that in the 21 years after John and Anne were married (1818 - 1839), there were at least 28 different Jones families in the congregation at Llanwnog! Here is a list of their names:
